The “Manyana Habit” and “Bahalana
System” are some of the factors that cause education students to pass
requirements late.
It is true that some students blame
their teachers when they receive low grades. However, students do not know that
they actually are the ones making their grades which is determined through
their performance. The teachers’ roles are to record students’ scores and
compute them. The computed grades then will be the ones to be reflected in the
report cards. In this sense, the students themselves become the maker of their
own grades.
I admit that I sometimes do what other
students have already done—blaming teachers for the low grades I receive. We
tend to judge our teachers if we don’t understand their discussion. But later
on I have realized that we, students, should take the blame ourselves. I am
awakened by the reality which I fail to see from the very beginning. My own
attitude towards something determines the outcome that I would then be
receiving. For instance, if I choose to pass the requirements late, it would
definitely affect my grades.
“A man reaps what he sows”, this
implies that we must sow good things so that we will reap good things in the
future. As it is said, “Learn as if you will live forever and live as if you
will die tomorrow”. Thus, we must learn from our mistakes and apply them in our
daily living for us to become good students.
