NBSB

By: Padin, Krizel N.

What is NBSB?
NBSB is an informal abbreviation that stands for ‘No Boyfriend Since Birth’ –that’s how rude it is.
The NBSB ladies might ask questions like, “Am I really that ugly?”, “What qualities do the other ladies possess that I simply do not have?”, “What’s wrong with me?” These questions may often result to self-pity, the hardest feeling a person could ever feel.
There are varied reasons why some ladies choose to be an NBSB. The first reason could be because they are afraid to fall in love since they think that the relationship will not work ending up in having broken hearts.
Second in the list is the issue on time. Some people don’t have sufficient time for commitment; they are too busy to entertain suitors (for some cases, however, this can also be a good excuse if someone simply does not like her suitor).
Next reason is that some NBSB ladies prioritize their studies more than anything else. They might have been thinking that having “boyfriends” will affect their studies and would become the reason for their poor performance in the class.
Fourth reason could be because their parents restricted them from engaging themselves into a girlfriend-boyfriend relationship. Although not all ladies have this reason for not entering to a relationship, parents still have something to do with their daughters’ decision regarding this matter.
Lastly but in no way the least, some NBSB ladies believe that it pays to patiently wait for the right one to come. They want to save the best for last.
Several ladies tend to change themselves to catch someone’s attention which isn’t right. They dress up to make sure that they look good and stylish. If ladies do this, they might look stubbornly desperate to catch a paramour.

God up there prepared a perfect man for each of us. All we need is to believe that in His hands, everything falls in its proper time and place. Being an NBSB, regardless of what your reason is, can also be a good thing if only we perceive it positively—it teaches us the virtue of waiting. Truly, we should have the patience to wait for the persons meant for us.
