BSU 2014 Election: Close Fight (by Trixel Sumintan)

A close fight of the candidates heated up the 2014 University-wide election last February 28, 2014 at Bukidnon State University. There were three (3) rival parties vying for the proposed political positions: SAMAKANA headed by Ms. Sheryl Mae Sulit, YES WE CAN headed by Ms. Angelica Fortin and TINAPA led by Mr. Mark Borja. Prior to the Election Day, each party was given sufficient time to propose their respective platforms during the Meeting de Avance. As random students were asked which party they thought was worthy for their votes, they had had a hard time answering since all the aspiring leaders, more specifically the presidential candidates, possessed qualities necessary for leading the entire studentry.

There was a close fight between the candidates who ran for the position of the Supreme Student Council President since they were all well-experienced leaders. However, students had finally spoken. The election started at around 7:00 A.M and ended at around 3:00 PM of the said date.  As what a general rule says, “Majority wins”. Hence, Ms. Angelica Fortin, with a total vote of more than three thousand, was declared as the newly elected SSC president.

4 Months of Melancholy

By: Necy Vallecera

It has been four months from the very day that you left me,
But the pain kept alive from the day that you set me free.
Someday, somehow I pray and wish,
That you’ll disappear and vanish.

It has been four months since I cried a thousand times to death,
But sorrows still dig deep within me taking away my breath.
I hope and beg one million times,
That you’ll be away a thousand miles.

It has been four months from the day you said goodbye,
But the word was stucked up like I want to die.
I long for the time that you’ll fade,

And cease the heartaches that you gave.

It's Hard to Say Goodbye

By: Necy Vallecera

Every time I tried to say goodbye,
My heart breaks and is supposed to die.
But as it continuously beats for you,
It hurts a lot more as it always do.

Yet, in spite of those hurt feelings,
I still managed to love you with all those things.
Gave you the love that you need,
But you wasted it all indeed.

I thank you for showing some care
And for the love that you shared.
Sorry for being so desperate,
But my love for you was strongly mixed with hate.

This is the last time that I’ll let you feel
My tender and undying love for real.
But it’s the best time to set you free,

And let your heart go and flee.
